What Causes Migraines? What Makes Your Head Hurt?

What causes migraines is when something activates the nerve pathways and chemicals in the brain and surrounding tissues. These changes affect blood flow in the brain. That gives you migraine symptoms, and you have to seek migraine treatment.

Migraines are a neurological syndrome characterized by altered bodily perceptions.

Once the ball starts rolling it gets worse, and worse.

For many years headaches were believed to be a psychological manifestation of neuroticism.

It reflected a weakness in the individual.

But now we know that when the blood vessels dilate, and expand, this sets off a chain reaction, and that is what causes migraines. One thing is for sure, and I bet you agree, these migraines vary in their degree of pain and disability.

One size doesn't fit all.

If you have triggers, and not a medical problem, when many factors come together in a particular person, that may trigger your migraine attack.

A migraine headache is a form of headache which is typically considered the most intense, and disabling.

Migraines are chronic in nature, meaning that they happen often for the individual that is affected.

Typically Migraines are one sided in their pain.

You either have migraines or you don't.

You can't give me a migraine (don't hold it against me), but you could say boo to my wife and she will get a migraine. She says you have to have a brain to hurt, "maybe so"
