The Symptoms Of Migraine Find your migraine symptoms

The symptoms of migraine can vary from one individual to another. This may be hard to understand but your migraine symptoms may be different from, say your mothers migraine headache symptoms, and may be different in each migraine headache you have.

But here are the symptoms you may have in a migraine attack.

You can have four phases of a migraine attack.

Below are some common symptoms, but not necessarily experienced by all migraine sufferers

The prodromal phase will be the first.

You may experience this several hours, or days before the migraine pain starts.

This comes with quite a few symptoms.

They are altered mood, irritability, depression or feeling high, fatigue, yawning, excessive sleepiness, craving for certain food, stiff muscles (especially in the neck), constipation or diarrhea, and increased urination.

This is the first phase of migraine.

About half of migraine sufferers have this, and after awhile you, or an observant family member will know when a migraine attack is near.

The second phase you may or may not have"Aura"

About twenty to thirty percent of people have the visual part of a migraine." My wife says she has never experienced this"

This appears gradually over five to twenty minutes, and generally doesn't last over an hour.

The symptoms of migraine aura can affect your visual, sensory, or motor in nature.

Doesn't necessarily have to effect your vision. Although vision aura is the most common.

The third phase of the symptoms of migraine, you may or may not have is the pain

The pain may be moderate to severe on one, or both sides of the head.

Nausea occurs in almost ninety percent of people, and vomiting occurs in about one third of people.

The better half has both without fail.

If you have the moderate headache with this, you may get by with a mild pain reliever. But you may have a throbbing migraine, you need a Triptan to take the pain away.

The last phase that you may or may not have is the postdrome

This is when it is over. And each migraine sufferer will feel different.

You may be tired, with mood changes, and weakness.

For some people, a nap may reduce the pain, but slight headaches may still occur when the you stand or sit quickly.

These symptoms may go away after a good night's rest.
