Take Riboflavin migraine for Three Months!!!!

Riboflavin migraine is actually taking riboflavin or B2 for your migraine.

If you have migraines, you may have a higher need for this vitamin, and if you have a deficiency of Riboflavin, this may be the reason you are having migraine attacks.

A deficiency may cause blood vessel dilation. And you know what that starts?

Does Riboflavin help prevent migraine attacks? The best way to answer that is through studies that have been done on Riboflavin for migraines.

One such study was done on fifty four migraine sufferers. Giving 400mgs a day, for three months in a randomized controlled trial using Riboflavin and placebo, fifteen percent of the placebo users responded positively, while a whopping 59 percent of the Riboflavin had siginifet amount of migraine relief, with no major side effects.

A further study giving Riboflavin migraine to people that knew what they were taking, riboflavin decreased their headaches to one half of what they had been having each month. Riboflavin also reduced the frequency, duration, and intensity of their headaches.

However, if you are having a migraine attack, the pain and length doesn't change, even if you are taking Riboflavin.

One thing to remember is most vitamins, minerals, and dietary supplements are pretty cheap compared to any medicines you take, and have been around much longer. Remember, on our feverfew page how this herb had been used for hundreds of years to fight migraines and headaches.

Which would you rather start off with, Riboflavin, Feverfew, butterbur, magnesium, and COq10, with few side effects, or plunge right into medicines. Not to say migraine preventives don't work.

But if riboflavin is taken with preventives such as beta blockers, although they work through different physiological mechanisms, can result in better Riboflavin migraine prevention.

How would you know if you have a Riboflavin deficiency, and what would be the Riboflavin deficiency symptoms?

First, if you have a Riboflavin deficiency, you could have dry or scaling skin, fluid in the mucous membranes, iron deficiency anemia, cracked and red lips, inflammation of the lining of the mouth and tongue, mouth ulcers, cracks at the corners of the mouth, and also a sore throat. (A Riboflavin deficiency in animals can result in death)

Also, your eyes may become sensitive to bright light, get bloodshot, itchy, and watery. A deficiency of riboflavin can be either primary, which could be caused by poor vitamin sources in your daily diet, or by a secondary condition, that affects the absorption in the intestine, your body not being able to use riboflavin, or an increase in the excretion of the vitamin from the body.

Your riboflavin migraine dosage will be 400mg a day for three months to help migraines.

( You may be thinking that you already take a multivitamin a day, and it has riboflavin in it). While that's true, my one a day multivitamin only has 1.7mgs in it. You can see how little riboflavin is in it compared to 400mg a day. Riboflavin is not toxin when taken orally, nor any riboflavin side effects have been observed.

" Also, take note of this. We have a friend that says he has to take 400mg a day to keep the nerves from hurting in his feet. He said if he stops taking it, he can hardly walk. He found out about riboflavin for nerve pain from a coworker that was taking it."

Riboflavin migraine foods are:

Milk products such as yogurt, cottage cheese, meat, fish, cheese, green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, mushrooms, almonds, bananas, green beans, and one we all like popcorn, just to name some foods that have b2 riboflavin in it.

You continually excrete riboflavin through your urine. Not only does vitamin B2 riboflavin play a role in headaches, riboflavin also plays a key role in energy metabolism, and for the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins.

Also a riboflavin deficiency can be because someone has diabetes, chronic heart disease, a bowel disease, and even HIV.

We hope this has provided some useful info about Riboflavin migraine. Headache and migraine sufferers can't turn their back on proven and tried vitamins, herbs, and natural remedies for their migraine relief.

Sometimes, mismanagement of ones migraines and headaches may take a while to find relief. Eighty five percent of chronic daily headaches come about by taking a quick fix. A pain pill today sets many headache sufferers up for a headache tomorrow. Don't be one of that 85 out of every hundred.
