Migraine medicine can be found in just about all stores. There is Advil Migraine, and Excedrin Migraine for you, if you have a mild headache
But if you are like my better half, these may not work.
There are three steps for helping your migraine with medicine.
There is the preventive medicine for migraines, that cuts back on the amount of attacks you have. That sounds like a winner, doesn't it?
Then the abortive medicine for migraines is for a migraine that slips through, even if you take the preventive. Surprisingly these medicines aren't used much.
Maybe because it cost so much.
Advil migraine, and Excedrin migraine, and many more over the counter pain medicine are called the rescue medications, and all are part of an effective treatment regimen.
You want to know about a migraine medicine that will help your headache, but I wouldn't be giving you much information if I just stopped there.
There are quite a few tactics you can employ to help your head before you get to the three steps we mention above.
To start with, let's think about stress, all of us have it.
Try to eliminate as much as possible.
It's sure not good on a migraine sufferer.
Get more rest if you can, don't miss sleep, and eat balanced meals.
And one more thing to pay close attention to is certain
food and bervages you consume.
You may scoff at this, but that is why I gave you a link to the food triggers page.We have talked to several people (some friends) that have suffered migraines from these very foods.
What these foods do is directly affect the blood vessels in your head. And that is where migraines start.
And don't forget the beverages to. Some can give you migraines. Two are red wine, and"aspartame". They are on the triggers page.
Look at it this way.
When many factors come together, that are affecting your blood vessels, it's the same thing as when you get mad.
You explode, and that is what happens to your migraines.
Taking migraine medicine will give you more quality time with your family

For mild migraines, Naproxen, and Ketorolac is used to relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation from different conditions.
It is used to treat headaches, and all of your other aches, pains,and menstrual cramps to.
You can buy this over the counter, or order it online, whichever you prefer.
Then there is Fiorinal. "prescription"
It has several ingredients in it.
This combination medication is used to treat tension headaches.
The acetaminophen helps to decrease the pain from the headache.
Caffeine helps increase the effects of acetaminophen, and Butalbital is a sedative that helps to decrease anxiety, and causes relaxation.
There is more migraine medicine now than ever to treat your migraines
Another is Cafergot.
This is a combination medication to treat, or prevent a certain type of headache, such as migraine headaches, and cluster headaches.
It helps narrow widened blood vessels in your head, which reduces the throbbing effects of vascular headaches.
Remember what I said above about the foods, and beverages.
They affect those blood vessels.
If this is your problem (and you may not have a clue) and you find it, just think how much better your head will feel.
The top of the line for the abortions are the triptans. There is rizatriptan (Maxalt), (Imitrex), and(RELPAX) Eletriptan just to name a few.They help to relieve headaches, pain,and other symptoms of migraines, including sensitivity to light, sound, nausea, and vomiting.
If you take these when you feel a migraine start you can get back to your normal routine, and you may not need other pain medications.
