Have you been Diagnosed with Acephalgic migraine?
By searching for acephalgic migraine I assume you've been diagnosed with having this migraine.If you're just looking because you have had these symptoms, go to a neurologist.You may be having transient ischemic attacks or mini strokes. We want you to be safe. That said, there are four phases of a Migraine attack, and you will not neccessary have all four. They are the prodrome, aura, headache, and postdrome, You can find information on all four phases on the page above. With your acephalgic migraine the headache "pain" phase is taken out of the four phases. So you have three migraine phases left. Now with acephalgic headache you can experence any parts of the three phases. And the thing about it is, your next migraine attack can be different from the last. Did you know that out of the many that have migraine pain with aura "visual" about half of them have had migraines without headaches?
Remember that there is no diagnostic test to confirm that you have migraine disease. The diagnosis comes about by reviewing both family such as your Mom, and Dad, and your medical history, evaluating your symptoms, and then giving you a good going over to rule out other causes of the symptoms you have described to him. So what you tell your headache specialist is very important. Don't leave out one detail. For instance, my wife told her doctor that her right eye waters when her head hurts, and he said he was glad she told him that. The diagnoses was different. Don't take these migraines lightly. The symptoms of acephalgic migraine are! You may, or may not have these symptoms. The usual migraine symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarhea, and mood changes, and also the migraine aura. And!!!! Many times people are misdiagnosed because the person can't explain to the doctor well enough, or leaves out something, or the doctor doesn't ask his patient something that will help him make the right diagnose. Called miss communications. If acephalgic migraine is left untreated, you could lose your field of vision. It's not something that you want to let go to long undiagnosed, and untreated.
There are some people that have these migraines, and never have the pain, although this is more rare than the ones that also have migraine pain. If your doctor says you have migraine aura without headache, amigrainous migraine, and isolated visual migraine, he is referring to the same thing. It's also called a neurological syndrome. The treatment for acephalgic migraine is with Nsaids.They are sometimes referred to as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents. The most common are aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen, partly because they are available over the counter in many areas. And they are reasonably priced. Your doctor may give you a preventive medicine if this type of migraine gets to the place where they are disrupting you, and you don't want to tolorate them anymore.
